After the hike….

 Hi guys so after we finished our safari’s, our group got together and went back to the main hotel where we went to bed. The next day we went to the airport. We took a quick flight to stone town and then drove for a long time. When we got to the address of our airbnb, it was in the middle of a road with no houses! We were really confused and then we realized we had been scammed!!! So we got back into the car and looked for a hotel. Lucky for us we had all day to look because at the time it was only 9 am. Finally we got to a really pretty hotel. So we went in and they gave us a snack while we waited for a room. Once we got all settled in, we went to the pool that was on the roof!!! After swimming for a bit we had dinner and then went to bed. That night I dreamed that I was a gingerbread man!! The next morning we got up early and decided to go for a walk around the city. So stone town is full of lots of people and stray cats. There are LOTS of shops with cool jewelry. I ended up buying a beautiful pair of green earrings. So we shopped for a bit and then went for lunch. He food we ate was amazing!!! There were sooo many cats at the restaurant and they were really cute❤️❤️after lunch we walked some more and then went back to our hotel. That is where I am now.

After we got back from Kilimanjaro we went on a three day safari. We saw all kinds of animals like monkeys, elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes and much much more. It was so cool. We got to stay in these hotels in the middle of the jungle.One of the nights there was a lightning storm outside our cabin and there was so much rain. We rode in a safari Jeep with a pop up roof so we could see outside while standing up. It was so awesome to see all the animals up close. One of the days we went to the Nogonrongoro  crater When we got back to the original hotel we packed all our stuff up and took a flight to Zanzibar at 4 am the next morning. When we got to the air b and b in stone town we realized it was a scam and the place didn’t even exist so we had to find another hotel in stone town. It’s a good hotel with a pool. The next day we walked around stone town and I bought a necklace and we had a big lunch and relaxed. Zanzibar is nice and a lot of the buildings are really old. There is also a ton of stray cats. The food we had had been really good. The streets are really narrow and they only fit small motorbikes and people. There is also a lot of colourful shops. - Sofie

Coming home!!!

  We took a flight to Addis Ababa and then took another long flight to Cairo and we arrived at one in the morning. We got to the hotel and it was very fancy and we went to bed. The next day I sat by the pool with dad and Sara and mom went to the bazar. We ate dinner and went to bed for a nap and then woke up at 9. We took the shuttle to the airport and checked in. After the flight to Frankfurt we got to the first class lounge and ate and relaxed. I am so excited to go home this trip was so long. I miss home and my pets and my friends . Kilimanjaro by Sofie

  Blog   We climbed Mt Kilimanjaro for 7 days. They were some of the worst days ever but that’s fine. The first day went really fast and it was actually kind of fun. We only hiked for about 4 hours. We slept in the rain forest. Sara started puking all night but she tried to stay strong. The next day we hiked for 12 hours straight. It was one of the worst days of my life. It was just uphill for hours. At the camp Sara was so done because she was sick and she hadn’t eaten anything for a while cause she kept puking. After we woke up the next morning Sara was so done with everyone so her and dad left with a car that came to the camp to pick her up. I had the choice to either leave or keep going. I chose to keep going with mom and    Katlyn and Roger but honestly it didn’t seem like the right chose while I was climbing that day. We kept going through the days and sleeping at camp.
